Investment banking is critical to individuals, corporations, and partnerships in helping to secure the needed capital to grow and expand their products and marketplaces. Based on our size and scope of operations, CGI falls into the definition of a “boutique investment bank” whereby we assist our clients primarily through private placements, financial advisory, and consulting, along with mergers and acquisitions. Our strategic services include the development of short to long-term capital plans to forecast growth that is both pragmatic and achievable. The many forms of financings that are traditionally targeted in the capital stack consist of both debt and equity offerings, senior and mezzanine, equity-preferred, common stock in private and public (PIPES) or limited partnership interests in companies, as well as asset and corporate divestitures and acquisitions.
The principals of CGI have over 35 years in corporate America and have been involved in raising monies and consummating transactions with a value in excess of $350 million. The broad spectrum of these financings range from publicly traded energy companies to on-campus student housing to national radio networks. The size of these deals are what the banking world calls micro-cap, which range from $5 to 25 million, although some have been larger in total value. In the last few years, Andrew Martin, CGI Founder and Managing Partner, has been involved in several asset transactions including acquisitions and divestitures with private oil companies and publicly traded MLP’s.
